Hey Folks,
Well, it finally happened. I found a new job. I’m glad I found it, although I’ll be taking a pay cut. If there’s one way to tell you all how much my current job has slowed, they told me they won’t be replacing me. There is so little to do that they’re having me train three other current employees so that they will have enough to do to keep them busy forty hours a week. Everyone keeps asking if I’m nervous. No, not really. My benefits will be a lot better, and there’s no probationary period for the benefits. I’m also eligible for tuition reimbursement after six months.
I’ll be working in an administrative role at a local hospital network. My first day is May 12th, which is orientation, and will be from home. After the first day, I will be in the office for 12 weeks of training. I was told that after a year I will begin working from home. They also told me it’ll be eligible to work from home after I’m able to do the job without asking for help, a couple of other people told me it’ll most likely be around 6 months. I guess we’ll see about that.
As for the writing, the collaboration Andy and I have been working on is now into the third act. We’re hoping to have it available by the end of this year. And we’ll see how the new job goes, but I’m really hoping to open Grindhouse Press to submissions before the year is out. We’ll see how things go.
Hope all is well.
