It’s been a while . . .

In our last episode of “What the hell is going on with Carrie?” I’d purchased a house. The super excitement of buying the house has slightly worn off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited, but not as excited as the couple of weeks. I think having to wait two months before we can actually move has put a small damper on the excitement. We’re in the “Let’s put everything we’ll need in the Amazon cart and then move it to the save for later list” portion of the moving process. Also, we’ve been collecting boxes from our employer for the move. We plan on starting to pack the last two weeks of July. Remember, we currently live in a 400 sq. ft. house so there isn’t a lot to pack.

On a positive note, we managed to hit our goal on GoFundMe! I’m so excited to actually get a Little Free Library. I was contacted by a couple of people who donated some books and I can’t thank them enough. I can’t wait until we move and get it installed. And thank you 1000X to the people who donated. I plan on making a list with all the names of the people who donated and linking it to a QR code to put on the door of the library.

As for writing, the idea of actually writing something this year went out the window when we bought the house. We’re moving August 3rd and submissions open on the 1st. Plus I’m working on having another book ready for publication early in October at the moment. It’s just not happening this year. But, I did get to sign my first signature sheets! I’ve signed books and bookplates, but never signature sheets. Fourteen years and twenty books and my first signature sheets will be for a limited edition of Baby Hater (along with some other short stories) translated into German and published by Festa Verlag.

I’m going to start calling this section my “Health Corner”. Things are okay. The sacroiliac injection was a success but after the pain was gone I noticed another, lesser pain in the same-ish area. The doc did an epidural in my neck in the hopes that it would help my shoulder blade pain . . . it didn’t. I go for a follow up with him on 7/14 to see what he wants to do, which I imagine will be more injections. Good thing those things are free.

Today I started some physical therapy for my knee from when I screwed it up last November. It hasn’t been right since. It was no fun having the physical therapist discover that I have nerve issues with both legs. Nerve pain is no joke, and having someone pushing on your legs and hitting inflamed nerves was not my idea of a fun afternoon. She also mentioned something about my hips and told me my leg without the screwed up knee is worse. Who knows where all of that is going. She gave me some stretches to do that are in a nifty app that goes to her so I only have to see her once a week.

The last time I saw my family doc she told me to send everything over to her because she’s convinced there is something autoimmune going on. It’s just all bonkers at this point.
